My adventures as a fitness professional began over thirty years ago in Toronto at a Vic Tanny's gym. Three months after joining, I was 24 pounds lighter, and had become an aerobics and weight training junkie. I began teaching aerobics classes, and learning all I could about physiology, nutrition and resistance training.

When my husband and I moved to Orangeville in 1984, I continued practicing my passion for healthy living. While raising our two children (now 19 and 22), I constantly sought materials and courses to increase my education, including a nutrition course at the University of Waterloo. For ten years, I studied both the philosophy and practice of Shotokan Karate, learning a new respect for the connection between mind, body and spirit. Even today, I relentlessly seek out new ideas and exercises to challenge my clients as well as my own routines, while building on the basics that form the framework of every sound fitness regime.

Having gone through a few struggles of my own, I understand how difficult it can be for each of us to meet our own needs, to "take loving care of ourselves" (Erich Fromm). We often put our own desires last, and in so doing, deprive ourselves of being and doing our best. I want to offer my clients the opportunity to function at a higher level - to reach for more energy, more happiness, and more satisfaction in their daily lives. I believe exercise, healthy nutrition, and a balanced lifestyle can help us promote the powerful changes necessary to achieve these goals.
